Born with a snow balling effect of Influencing and Inspiring each others, then followed by Enriching and Enhancing the seed of Ideas by numerous Inventive Energies from all direction, EBULLIENCE appears and performed as a reflection of Great Collaboration of Sound, Motion, graphical color and Light touching your Six Senses, a moment or façade of Expression without any Hesitation. EBULLIENCE gesture a very soft message to the people and society of Denpasar city (and Government I supposed…), answering to Cultural mayhem and at the same time, we EMBRACING TOMORROW..!

Emerged by a brave and honest approach and gigantic support from Putu Suwitra  as the main Event Organizer of Denpasar festival, he was successfully bridging the communication between all the Wild, Independent Creative Energies and  the Government ‘comfortable’ mind setting. A breakthrough, that had never happen throughout the history of Denpasar itself.

Ebullience has grown up and become a Rare Happening and Moment, a moment of Truth. I hope that this is would not become, the beginning of the end…

IN MEMORIAM CHRISYE (1949-2007): The ‘EL CATANTE’

68h2dw

Chrisye (born Chrismansyah Rahadi) was a progressive-pop Indonesian pop singer, of mixed Chinese-Indonesian descent. He was born in Jakarta on September 16, 1949, and died there on March 30, 2007 following a long battle with lung cancer.[1]. He recorded 21 solo albums in his lifetime. He married in 1982 to G.F. Damayanti Noor, who was also a singer; they had four children. Chrisye started recording in the band Gipsy in 1969. The band covered music including Procol Harum, King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Genesis and Blood, Sweat & Tears, and ventured to the USA to play in New York. The band in 1976 collaborated with Guruh Soekarno Putra, one of the sons of former Indonesian President Soekarno, and brother of Megawati Soekarnoputri, subsequent Indonesian President, on Guruh Gipsy, a progressive rock album that combined prog rock with Balinese gamelan.[2]

His raise to fame came with the release of the critically acclaimed movie soundtrack “Badai Pasti Berlalu (The Storm Will Surely Pass)” in 1977. The album was done in collaboration with Eros Jarot (currently a member of Indonesian parliament) and Yockie Suryoprayogo, Indonesia’s first progressive musician. His first, and most popular solo single was in 1977 with Lilin Lilin Kecil (Little Candles), composed by James F. Sundah, who was a contestant of Prambors Radio teen song-writing contest.

Space – poem by Nagarjuna, 2nd Century

Space

nagarjuna_sm by Nagarjuna
(150? – 250?) Timeline English version by
Stephen BatchelorOriginal Language
Sanskrit

Buddhist
2nd Century

No trace of space
Is there before
The absence of obstruction
Which describes it.

With no obstruction,
How can there be
Absence of obstruction?
Who distinguishes between them?

Space is not obstruction
Or an absence of it,
Nor is it a description
Or something to describe.

Fluidity and heat,
Energy and gravity
Are just like space.

In seeing things
To be or not to be
Fools fail to see
A world at ease.

YOKA SARA APPROACH PART 1: ANTIPODES IN MY ARCHITECTURE – PERFECTION AND IMPERFECTION —–continued

Influenced,

In the year of 90′s, at the very beginning of my career, my eyes dazed to a door carving detail at one of the traditional pavilion in my Great Grandfather house, Puri Gerenceng Denpasar. I assumed it carved at the beginning of  19th century or come from the earlier generation before my Great Grandfathers era.

dsc016648

With a glimpse, the carving on the doorframe was looking fine and as and old style carving, it softly reflecting a spirit of  humbleness, maturity and an equilibrium way of life of whoever create that carving. But when you observe closely,dsc016652

The pattern applied on the left and right hand sides of the doorframe are not alike. I believe it was not on purpose and technically, he made a mistake at the beginning of the process.

To what I understand, mostly when it a symmetrical or typical pattern, we need to make a hand drawing, or sketch of pattern in any media (paper for example) as a template.

Both images are two example of my great grandfather works and style, showing a high attention  to details and a deep touch to the object. By orbserving his works, I can feel on his pursuit to perfection, no matter the scale and size of the objects.

A lesson that have been strongly adhere to the most of His students until now, also gave a deep impact to my works approach.

AJA WERA ILA-ILA DAHAT TAN SIDDHI PHALANYA

I do not believe in coincident occurrences. There are always Purpose behind Cause and consequence. However, when it comes continuously, it will mean different….

Day 1: Saturday, March 21, 2009 afternoon,

I visit my uncle Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Phalgunadi, M.A,Dr.Litt. in Puri Gerenceng, Denpasar to invite him for a small ceremony I am going to held in my own house. He left Bali in year of 1978, for almost 25 years to study History of Hindu in New Delhi, India and honored with Gold medal, Certificate in Karma Kandha (Reciting of Vedas and Performing Yajna).

I was impressed with his remark (after I expressed my recent works and achievements, an effusion of my dedication),

“Aja Wera Ila-Ila Dahat Tan Siddhi Phalanya…”

Knowledge only can be teach to they who believed and faithful, or otherwise it will be dangerous, never succeed in everything they did

“Only appeared mostly as a foot note in every of Ciwa Siddhanta and Ciwa Bhairawa manuscript and in Tantrayana (worshiping Cakti/Power or Devi/Dhurga)”

“Written in Bhuwana Kosa manuscript, during Empu Sendok Era”

Day2: Sunday, March 22, 2009 afternoon,

Continuing Inviting first cousin, coincidently found a rare old photograph of my Great Grandfather,

I Gusti Made Gede and his students.

a rare image of my Great grandfather and his students

a rare image of my Great grandfather and his students

During the Dutch Colonial period, Puri Gerenceng and My Great Grandfather well known for study and learn about Art of Carving and Traditional Literature, Architectural Knowledge, inherited a part of his father’s knowledge, I Gusti Ketut Gede from Puri Kedaton Kesiman, Badung Bali.

Day3: Monday, March 23, 2009,

I grabbed ‘Suardi’ -a local magazine focused in ‘the voice from world of Art’- from the very corner of my table, and it was there for weeks. Open it up, my eyes astonished to a profile article of  Jay Subyakto, one of a view ‘bigwig’ to myself.

I shall know very soon, to where, that ‘coincides’ will lead me….

YOKA SARA APPROACH PART 1: ANTIPODES IN MY ARCHITECTURE – PERFECTION AND IMPERFECTION

Both of antipodes words, Perfection and Imperfection always storming my head more and more, which I realized and ‘awake’ extensively from the last ten years of my Architectural journey, an awakening that had been started to make me believe that a ‘Perfect Works’ or so-called a ‘masterpiece’ can achieved from carefully combining -naturally- of both perfection and imperfection through out the design and implementation process.

Imperfection in my Architecture characterized by gave up spaces and allowances for several of natural elements to contribute and play their own role as nature as they are, but still in a harmonious scale and proportion to the implemented architectural spaces, emphasizing to the Sequence design scenario, and or to work the other way round. To string with sensitivity both of antipodes Elements, Trees to my perfect column, shadows to my plain wall and floor, rippling water to my reflecting flat glass, clouds to my ceiling, and color of the sun to my color palette are several elements that I can used to figure out the above perceptive. A harmonization and a grand collaboration of Static Element, in which symbolize our ego as a human being, and Motion Element represent the nature of macro cosmos, ensemble to an Architectural Orchestra.

Further to the above reveal, through implementation process of the project-which we always follow until the end of the project- , anticipations and decisions, acceptances and allowances to imperfect details and materials, improvisation to detail and architectural elements, and as the biggest issue is to collaborate one more time with the other  design discipline like Landscape and Interior design.

mystical sunset at Kayu Aga Residence

At the end, as the culmination of the whole process, the achievement is an architecture that will no more appear just as a ‘building’, but a Living Spaces that enriched by blended to its surrounding, a signature projects by itself that reflecting soul and spirit…

FREEDOM WRITERS

The movie takes place in the early 1990′s until late 1990′s. Hilary Swank plays the role of Erin Gruwell, a new, excited schoolteacher who leaves the safety of her hometown, Newport Beach, to teach at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, where a new integration program has implemented where students of all backgrounds and races are put in classes together. Her enthusiasm quickly dwindles away when she realizes that her students (all at-risk students, also known as “unteachables”) are not the happy-go-lucky eager students she was expecting. Her students must be forced in to class by security guards and are segregated into groups according to race within the classroom. The tension is apparent every time students from one race look at those from another. Not only does she meet opposition from her students, she also has a hard time with her department head, who believes she should ……

… Meanwhile, Gruwell gives her students a project to write their diary in the form of a book. She compiles the projects into a book and names it The Freedom Writers Diary. Her husband divorces her and Margaret tells her she cannot teach her kids for their junior year. She fights this decision, eventually convincing the superintendent to allow her to teach her kids’ junior and senior year. The film ends with a note that Gruwell successfully brought many of her students to graduation and college. (wikipedia)

Rekan saya Ayip telah melakukannya bertahun-tahun, he must be a very happy man, I sholud thank  him for inspired and influenced me. Terutamanya saya harus berterima kasih kepada Budi Ridwin yang telah mebawa saya ke dunia yang baru, never too late Guys…

Yoka Sara and Weniar Pramesti

behind the screen...that is what she call it

behind the screen...that is what she call it

Hanya satu hal, I noticed that she sleep quiet a lot. Tadi jam 3 sore weniar pramesti mengabari bahwa dia telah tiba di Jakarta setelah dalam penerbangan dengan cuaca buruk, serta baru saja bangun dari tidur. zzz..zzz…zz, hope to see you again.
